MPE is dedicated to improving the treatment, care and quality of life of patients with myeloma and AL Amyloidosis. To this end, the main goals of the organisation are:
• Collaborating on projects to the benefit of the myeloma community
• Exchanging information and best practice
• Developing existing patient groups and encouraging and facilitating the setting up of new groups
• Helping to shape appropriate health-related policies and initiatives on a European and national level
• Ensuring patients across Europe receive timely access to new treatment
• Stimulating and promoting patient-centred research and clinical trials
• Developing a strong evidence base for the needs and wants of patients and their role in research
• Providing information, educational and outreach programmes to member groups

Position Type: Working Student (Mini-job or Midi-Job) maximum 20h week
Probation period: six months
Gross salary: 528 to 1056 EUR depending on hours of work
Place of work: Remote in Germany

As Medical and Scientific officer, you will work in the Medical Education and Scientific Engagement area. You will assist the Head of Medical Education and Scientific Engagement with the following activities:

European Myeloma & AL Amyloidosis Clinical Trial Navigator

This project aims to create an online tool for patients to search for clinical trial information. Data needs to be collected from different sources to create our database. Your tasks will involve the following activities:
- Gather data from clinicaltrials.gov and other sources to templates
- Write patient friendly content when necessary and include them to templates
- Transfer data from templates to website
- Maintain the database up-to-date
- Coordinate with and report to project leader

Information and Educational resources

Myeloma Patients Europe regularly publishes educational materials for its members (Q&As, treatment factsheets, patient guides, educational video clips etc.). Your tasks will involve the following activities:
- Be up-to-date on scientific matters in myeloma and AL amyloidosis via literature reviews and possibly scientific conferences attendance
- Develop and write patient friendly content of educational resources on myeloma and Al amyloidosis pathway, treatment and care
- Ensure medical accuracy of educational and scientific / medical information resources
- Support the rest of the team and other programs with scientific and medical information
- Coordinate with and report to project leader

About you:
·Studying relevant areas of life science or medicine (e-g pharmacology, immunology, immuno-oncology, hematology etc. )
·Organised, efficient, detail oriented and good at time management
·Ability to work from home in a virtual setting with a team spread across Europe
·Good listening and communication skills
·Demonstrated skills in writing, proofreading, and editing in English, preferably C2 level. German language skills are not required.
·Ability to explain complex scientific terms and knowledge into lay language
·Willingness to learn
·Proficient at Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent)
